Scorpion Sound

The Scorpion Sound Marching Band is the largest physical embodiment of the band program at Satellite High School. Ranging between 70-80 members each year, the ensemble focuses on creating exciting, artistic marching shows that combine popular, classical and other genres of
music that are sure to please crowds at football games as well as adjudicators at district marching MPA performances. The Scorpion Sound also participates in several community outreach events, including the Satellite Beach Founder’s Day Parade, Light Up Viera, the Melbourne Light Parade, and more.

The Scorpion Sound Marching Band includes the typical woodwind, brass and percussion instruments found in concert band settings; it also includes the historically celebrated Scorpionettes as the color guard.

Orchestra

The Satellite High School Orchestra Program is a dynamic and integral part of the school's arts community, featuring diverse ensembles such as the Chamber Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, and the flagship Symphonic Orchestra. The program showcases a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, providing students with opportunities to enhance their musical skills and engage with complex compositions. The program fosters a sense of community and school spirit, allowing students to develop their talents and musical abilities.

Band

The Satellite High School Band Program in features a diverse range of ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Silver Jazz Ensemble and Scarlet Jazz Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble. These groups offer rigorous training across various musical styles, enhancing students' technical skills and musical expression. The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band focus on classical and contemporary and classical music, while the Jazz Bands emphasize jazz fundamentals and improvisation. Regular performances at school events and festivals provide students with valuable experience and opportunities to collaborate with professionals, fostering both talent and teamwork.
